I am a husband, father of 9, a general surgeon, work in our ER every Monday night, am the Medical Director of our wound center, medical director of our trauma program, the medical director at our MedSpa here in town and a Garage Gym Athlete. I have been an athlete most of my life. I competed in football, basketball, track, wrestling, and powerlifting in junior high and high school. I earned my black belt in Tae Kwon Do when I was 11. I was a sprinter at Fort Hays State University, where I earned my degree in Athletic Training. I also dabbled in bodybuilding during that time. I then was accepted into medical school in Kansas City and then transitioned to general surgery residency in Grand Blanc, MI. I took a general surgery job in Winfield, KS. I was overweight and out of shape from residency of working crazy hours, not sleeping, eating bad food and no exercise. I lost some weight with diet and then decided to try Crossfit. I did random workouts from various websites for a few years. I then stumbled across Garage Gym Athlete while doing a shift in the ER at 2am one night, which is actually what I am doing this very minute. I started with Hard to Kill in November of 2018 and have been doing that most of the time. I am in the best shape of my life and I love this programming! I have learned a lot realm of programming and nutrition. I am ready to share my knowledge and help others achieve their fitness and life goals.
